Private instruction is beneficial for children of any age and skill level regardless of whether or not they are a competitive gymnast. If your child is having difficulty mastering anything from cartwheels and handstands to layouts on the beam and giants on bars, private instruction can provide them with the extra attention and practice they need to get to where they want to go. In order to maximize the benefit and potential offered by a private lessons, they are limited to a maximum of 2 students per lesson.

  • Payment for private lessons must be made by cash or check, paid directly to the instructor.

  • Rates vary from $35-$75 per hour, depending on level of coach and number of athletes. 

  • Private lessons are scheduled on weekends, and weekdays before 3:00 pm & after 7:30 pm. 

Wendy Rein

CATS Program Director, USAG Coaches Pre-team through Level 10. Over 25 years of experience coaching gymnastics from recreational to the highest optional levels. Bachelor of Science in Health Education & Physiology. 

Mackenzie Churchill

Mackenzie has coached at CATS for 20 years. She currently is Co-head coach of the USAG Optional program, as well as the head beam coach for CATS. She works with all groups and all levels, including boys. She is also available for beam choreography. 

Rachel Burd

Rachel was a competitive Level 8 gymnast at CATS and has stayed apart of the family and as a coach. She is the President of the CU Gymnastics Club Team and currently coaches C.A.R.A levels 3 and 4. Rachel works with Beginning Girls, Intermediate and Advanced, Developmental Boys and assists with Pre-Team. 

Megan Buttner

Megan has coached gymnastics and worked in the fitness profession for over 18 years. As a CU Graduate she also competed for the CU Pole vaulting team. She has coached all levels and has developed athletes to the TOPS National Team. She currently works with CATS USAG Junior Olympic Team. She is a very talented fitness professional and brings the following certifications to her practice:  M.A.T. Certified Specialist; NCEP Certified Personal Trainer; USA Gymnastics Certified Professional; Concussion, CPR & First Aid Certified.

Zak Johnson

Zak has been coaching at CATS since summer of 2015. As a previous USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Level 10 athlete, he brings a lot of great tools to his coaching practice. He is enthusiastic, hard working, and a very kind instructor. His certifications include: USAG Professional Certification, USAG Safety Certified, USAGym 101 Certified, Concussion Education Certified.
