Adult Gymnastics 101

Have you ever wanted to learn a back flip? Want to brush up on your handstands? It’s never too late to learn! With Gymnastics 101 you will learn basic tumbling, handstand progressions, trampoline air awareness, and improve overall strength and fitness. This class will use a variety of gymnastics apparatuses. No experience necessary!


We start with a warm-up and gymnastics specific strength exercises on the floor. We typically move into a structured skill that involves progressions for those who need an easier option, or a more challenging one, and stations that coincide with the skill of the day. 


We then let our athletes move throughout stations within the gym and use equipment like the trampolines, bars, vault, and beams. We give suggestions on skills to practice, but the students have the freedom to modify those suggestions or work on a particular area of interest. We rotate through stations allowing each participant to use the “belt” above the trampoline. This apparatus allows participants to learn to back handspring, backflip, and double back flip safely. We end with a cool down and light stretch.
